I am looooooving this dress! So many of you have inquired about summer dresses for weddings, rehearsals, barbeques and otherwise - this one would be perfect for all of them (it also comes in white, which I of course would NOT suggest for the weddings) You can dress it up or down depending upon your shoes (strappy heels at night and your metallic flats for day) and accessories. For $44.50?! You can’t beat it…LASM

So cute and I’m absolutely in the market for such a dress. Have you seen it in person? Is it really as great as the photo? Thanks!

    PS: Love the blog!

  3. lastylistmom Says:

I have not seen it in person BUT…when I was working I used to order from them all the time. Decent quality, much better than say Forever 21 or Old Navy. For 44 bucks? If you hate it, send it back. Let me know if you do end up getting it, how it is - and thanks so much for your kind words. Look forward to seeing you around!

    Best,

I actually love this dress, thinking the natural w/ a cardigan could be cute for work this summer. I’m heading to the burbs to visit family this weekend, so thinking of trying it on. Thanks LASM!

Hi - well I am loving my Eileen Fisher pants. I got MANY complements today. Also ordered the Jack Purcells and love them too. Sooooo, here is my latest fashion “need”. I have a few events coming up and wanted to get a clutch bag to use with the dress (dresses) I plan to wear. I want to get something that goes with black or is even black and won’t go out so that I can use it for a while. Any ideas? Are clutches in or out???? Thank you so much for all of your help - Ellis

  9. MSL Says:

LASM - you’re the best! I’ve ordered the dress, can you help me accessorize it with shoes and jewelry for an upcoming wedding?

  10. lastylistmom Says:

So happy you loved your pants Ellis - tell your friends!

As a matter of fact clutches are very hot right now. I’ve included some links below that will all work with black. The styles are simple, but have an open mind b/c they aren’t all black. There’s a python one that I LOVE in both red and white. Python is really trendy right now, but in my opinion never goes out. I have a bag that I’ve used for 15 years! Can’t wait to see what you choose…

    Hi MSL!

Glad to hear you’re loving your dress. So there’s a bunch of links here; not sure what your price point is but if I’m off you can at least get the gist. My FAVE’s on the shoes are the ‘Oh Deer!’ pair. So not the obvious way to go with this dress! Love. If you didn’t want to wear heels, then check out the metallic flats in my other post. Any of those would work great.

Also do a search here for clutch purses; I just advised someone else who is looking for black ones. Black or metallic would work (but go black if you choose the ‘Oh Deers!’) As far as jewelery goes, I think Old Navy actually has some really pretty stuff this season. I love the idea of two of the rings (link below) in gold and black worn on the same finger. Then choose EITHER the necklace or the earrings.

As far as your post about the tops, I hadn’t heard of them but checked out the site. I have to be honest and say I’m not in love. Not because they aren’t age appropriate (they’re fine) I just think they’re over designed. Way too much happening. The lesser of the evils for me would be the Sienna, Heather, Leah and Rainbow Sky. You should also check out Free People tops; similar but not as busy.

Let me know what you choose!

Thanks a bunch! You’re amazing. I actually haven’t received the dress in the mail yet, but I’m planning on loving it, hence the need to accessorize.

I don’t think I’m cool enough to wear the Oh Deers (don’t know if I can pull off 3+” heels either, but I’ll TRY!).

And, thank you for the Free People tip — do you know if Anthropologie carries that brand in their brick&mortar stores?

  13. MSL Says:

See, this is the shoe that speaks to me:

*HEAVY SIGH* These are bad, MSL. In all honesty. How about the other links that I gave you to the plain black ones?

  16. MSL Says:

LOL. I’m completely pathetic! Would those wedges in the “evening ensemble” post work with this dress? I love those…

  17. lastylistmom Says:

MSL you are hardly pathetic, and YES! They would be perfect - nice work!!!

  18. Ellis Says:

i like the tuckerpaisley clutch. I have 2 dresses - one is all black and the other is black, brown and navy pattern. I am going to 2 Bat Mitzvahs so the dresses are something I could wear to a dressy cocktail party. I got a pair of cole haan patten leather peep-toe heels to go with the dresses. Do you think the tuckerpaisley clutch in black would be good or too boring?

  19. lastylistmom Says:

    Hi Ellis!

I think the TP clutch in black would be perfect - not too boring at all. Then you’ll have a good, basic staple for future events!

  20. MSL Says:

Just received my black Delia’s eyelet dress today and it’s so delightfully fun. I was really pleased with the feel of the material (cotton) and the fact that the dress is lined. The zipper is a little cheap but the dress is less than $50, so who can complain?! I think I’m going to order it in natural too!

Just a note to anyone else who is considering an order from Delia’s — sizes are junior sizes (they target ages 12-19) so I’d order a size bigger than you might think. E.g., if you wear a 4 normally, order the 5/6 instead of the 3/4. And, it if you have to return it (which they make pretty easy), it’s more fun to return something for a smaller size than it is to size up, you know?

Thanks again LASM — you’re my style super hero!

  21. MSL Says:

PS to anyone ordering the dress (or anything else from Delia’s) — Use the coupon code SWIM8 for 20% off through June 10. Can’t beat that — makes the dress less than $40!

Former UB’er here. I came here and LOVE LOVE LOVE the site! I also ordered the dress. Can’t wait to see it. LASM rocks!! I’ve deleted UB from my favorites file and replaced it with this one…

  23. Abby Says:

    Hi,

Bought this dress and think it’s great, but the belt looks kind of cheap. Would you wear it with another belt? Can you suggest one? Love this site! Thanks for your help.

  24. lastylistmom Says:

    Hi Abby!

Good to know about the belt. I’ve listed two links below for you just to get an idea. I think a skinny black patent belt would be perfect with the eyelet. I also quite like the silver one; would be cute w/ silver sandals. The other thing that you can do (which I’ve often done myself) is go to the fabric store. A bright colored wide grosgrain ribbon (or black) tied in a bow would be perfect! Let me know what you choose or if you need more ideas…

    Best,
